Chuck Lee Banjo Company, Inc.
"Deep in the Heart of Texas"

It is my goal to listen to your feedback, making each new banjo better than the one before.

Standard Features

Necks:  Walnut, Cherry or Maple.  G-scale length is 25 1/2", A-Scale length is 22-7/8".  Two-way truss rod adjustable from the heel.  Also an easy action height adjustment at the heel.  Vintage scalloped bone nut and a Frailing scoop.

Fingerboards:  Ebony fingerboards and peghead overlays with the exception of the Rose Hill, which features a Rosewood or some other interesting wood. Fingerboard dots, offset from center and side dots of Mother of Pearl or Abalone at 3, 7, 10 , two @ 12, 15 & 17 (except the Rose Hill which only has side dots and all Fretless necks which have none).

Pegheads:  Peghead designs vary between models.  Tuners available are Pegheds tm, planetary geared violin style tuners, 5-Star or Gotoh tuners are standard depending on model.  Waverly and Keith tuners available on some models.

Inlay:  Traditional to fanciful depending on model and series.

Rims:  Rims are 10", 11" and 12" of  two-ply Maple, Cherry or Walnut,  3"  to 3 1/4" tall and 7/16" thick.  This may vary on some models.  Birch and Maple sunken, recovered "old wood" is available as an upgrade in two-ply or block style rims.  The block rims we offer are by the well known Tony Pass.

Tone Rings:  The array of models offer the following popular tone rings: Wooden, Brass Hoop, Electric (aka Whyte Laydie), Ebony, Tuba-Phone, Dobson, FF Bacon and the Silver Bell (made right here in Texas by JLS).

Hardware:  Nickel plated Ball end nuts, Shoes, Screws, Hooks, Tension Hoops, and No-Knot tailpiece are standard on all models with a Renaissance Head.

Artist Eyes:  Each banjo has some unique features.  It may be common for a model to have a blackened pot but some may come through with natural woods or different stains.  Some necks are natural and some stained.  The inlay may be different in some way like color, application, quantity and design.  As an artist I don't prefer to do the same thing over and over.  If the banjo project seems to want to be different, well, different it becomes.

Exceptions:  Due to material availability; brand names, head types and such may change without notice.  We will always strive to give you the best components available.  Prices are subject to change without notice.  There is no price reduction for deletion of standard features on our regular production models.
